Skin problem?

Why is it that your skin developes things much slower than any other part of your body?

for example this girl i know has not sunbaded in over 2 years but at that time she used to sunbade a lot and did not get a tan now all these freckles are appearing on her body so it too 2 yrs for her to get them even though it really happened 2yrs before why is that and is there anything she can do about it

You're doing damage at a microscopic, cellular level. Your skin is constantly, but slowly replacing cells. It takes time before the cumulative damage becomes apparent. For example, melanoma can develop years after a bad burn.

There's not a lot you can do after the fact - just stay out of the sun as much as possible and use sunless tanners if you want.

She should also make sure she discusses it with her doctor, because UV damage increases your risk for skin cancer.

Well if you think about it everything devolpes slowly on your bady. Hair- nails.. Maybe she was already devolping them after all her sunbathing but they were just to small to notice. Now that they are bigger they are more just more noticable.
